Description

I invite you to join me on a private tour through the Dutch countryside, visiting Zaanse Schans, De Rijp, and Edam. This tour is for your group only — no strangers, no fixed schedule, no rushing.
We start at Zaanse Schans, the famous open-air site with its historic windmills, traditional wooden houses, clog-making workshop, and cheese farm. It's popular for good reason, and we take about two hours to enjoy it properly, with plenty of time for photos.
Then we leave the tour buses behind. The drive continues through open polder landscape to De Rijp, a beautifully preserved 17th-century whaling village that most visitors to Holland never see. Here you'll mostly meet locals, not other tourists. From there we head to Edam — world-famous for its cheese, yet surprisingly quiet, with cobblestone streets, old merchant houses, and a historic center best explored on foot.
As a professional guide living in the Netherlands since 1989, I'll share the landscapes, traditions, and history that define this region — and I'm happy to adjust the route and pace to your interests. Want an extra photo stop in the countryside or more time in one village? Just say so.
Groups of up to 4 guests travel in my comfortable SUV; groups of 5–8 use a private van. Pickup and drop-off at your Amsterdam hotel, accommodation, or Schiphol Airport are included, as is all transportation and parking.
I look forward to showing you both the famous and the quiet sides of the Dutch countryside.
