Description
Tour Start: Ford’s Theatre
We begin our journey where one of the most pivotal moments in American history took place—Ford’s Theatre. Here, you’ll hear the gripping story of the night President Abraham Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Booth. Feel the weight of history as we stand where America held its breath.
Peterson House
Just steps away, we visit the Peterson House, where Lincoln took his final breaths across the street from the theatre. We’ll talk about the immediate aftermath of the assassination, the chaos in the streets, and how a nation mourned.
️ Old Post Office Pavilion
Next, we head to a hidden gem—The Old Post Office Pavilion. Tucked inside is an elevator that takes us to one of D.C.’s best-kept secrets: a stunning 360° observation deck offering breathtaking views of the Capitol, Washington Monument, and beyond.
Perfect spot for panoramic photos and a quick breather above the city!
️ Freedom Plaza & WWI Memorial
We descend back into the heartbeat of the city, passing Freedom Plaza, where the design on the ground is a scaled map of D.C. We’ll stop at the WWI Memorial, a lesser-known but powerful tribute to the soldiers of the Great War.
InterContinental Hotel – The Willard
As we stroll along Pennsylvania Avenue, we pass the elegant InterContinental Hotel, once called the “Residence of Presidents.” From Lincoln to MLK, this hotel has housed changemakers of history.
️ Fun Fact: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is said to have finalized the “I Have a Dream” speech here.
Old Ebbitt Grill
We pass by the iconic Old Ebbitt Grill, a favorite of presidents and locals alike since 1856. If you're hungry after the tour, this is the perfect place to grab oysters and soak in some old-school D.C. vibes.
Alexander Hamilton Statue
Outside the Treasury Building, we stop by the Alexander Hamilton statue, and dive into the life of the brilliant but complicated Founding Father, his role in creating the U.S. financial system, and his legacy in today's America.
Lafayette Square & White House Viewpoint
We close our tour at Lafayette Square, rich with statues and stories. You’ll meet General Andrew Jackson on horseback, gaze upon the historic homes lining the square, and get an iconic view of The White House—home to every U.S. president since John Adams.
