Description

Today we will depart from Washington D.C. to the former residence of Jefferson, the author of the Declaration of Independence. You’ll learn about Jefferson and his vision for America, the realities of slavery on the Monticello plantation, and the mountaintop’s iconic architecture.

Monticello is the autobiographical masterpiece of Thomas Jefferson—designed and redesigned and built and rebuilt for more than forty years. Its gardens were a botanic showpiece, a source of food, and an experimental laboratory of ornamental and useful plants from around the world.


Itinerary:

Washington D.C. → Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello (4 hours, admission ticket and 45 mins official guided Highlights Tour included) → Washington D.C.
