Description
You’ll start your day in Sitges, a lively Mediterranean town just 35 minutes by train from Barcelona. You meet Pablo, your local cycling guide from Bike Tour Origins, at the Sitges train station and drive together into the Penedès wine region, where your e-bike and helmet will be waiting at the organic family winery Eudald Massana.
After a short bike fitting and safety briefing, you set off on a relaxed e-bike ride through the surrounding vineyards. The route is around 25 km on quiet country roads with gentle hills. Thanks to the electric assist, this experience is open to almost everyone who can ride a bike: you don’t need to be very fit or an experienced cyclist, and the pace is always easy and adapted to the group.
Along the way, you pass by Sant Sebastià dels Gorgs, a small medieval monastery with nearly 1,000 years of history. You continue towards the Miravinya El Circell viewpoint, where you can enjoy wide views over the Penedès and the distant silhouette of Montserrat. You also ride near Torre de les Gunyoles, a historic watchtower that once protected the region. There will be time for short breaks and photo stops as you go.
Back at Eudald Massana, a member of the family guides you through the vineyards and cellar, explaining their organic and biodynamic approach to winemaking and how the local grapes express this landscape. You then sit down in the garden (weather permitting) for a relaxed Catalan brunch with local products such as cheeses, cured meats and pa amb tomàquet, paired with a tasting of four organic wines and cavas.
This small-group experience is designed to feel personal, unhurried and safe. Pablo is there to help you with the bikes, share local stories and answer questions, so you can simply enjoy the ride, the wine and the landscape. At the end of the visit, you drive back together to Sitges station, where you can either take the train back to Barcelona or stay longer to enjoy the beach and old town.
- The meeting point is the winery where the tour starts. It is a quick drive of about 45 minutes from Barcelona and 35 minutes from Sitges. Detailed instructions on how to get to the winery will be sent after booking.
- The route is around 25 km, mostly on quiet roads with gentle hills. The e-bike makes it accessible to anyone with basic cycling skills.
- The experience may be adapted in case of bad weather or special winery events, but the overall structure (e-bike ride + winery visit + tasting) will remain the same.
