Description
Depart Rome for an unforgettable spiritual journey into the heart of Puglia. You will be picked up directly from your hotel or apartment in Rome and travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan, accompanied by a dedicated tour guide, for a day dedicated to faith, history, and culture. Your first stop on the tour will be the Grotto of Saint Michael the Archangel, located in Monte Sant’Angelo, one of the oldest and most venerated sanctuaries in Christianity. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the cave is enveloped in a mystical atmosphere and has been associated with apparitions of the Archangel Michael since the 5th century. This sacred place, a pilgrimage destination for over a thousand years, will offer you an intense and evocative spiritual experience. After the visit, you will continue on to San Giovanni Rotondo to explore the famous Sanctuary of Padre Pio, one of the most important places of worship in the Catholic world. Here, you will visit the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, where Padre Pio lived and carried out his ministry for many years. You will be able to see his personal belongings, his relics, and his incorrupt body, which is displayed with great devotion.
Next, you will visit the New Church of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, designed by the renowned architect Renzo Piano, which houses the crypt where the saint's remains lie in repose. You will have time to pray, reflect, and experience a moment of contemplation in this deeply spiritual place. At the end of the visit, you will have free time for lunch and to relax before returning to Rome with your heart filled with the emotions and memories of a unique spiritual and cultural experience.
