Discover the Exploratorium After Dark, when the lights dim and the atmosphere shifts to an adults-only adventure. Socialize in a vibrant, creative environment - perfect for date night, friends’ night out, or solo exploring. Every Thursday night, from 6:00–10:00 p.m., the museum opens its doors exclusively to guests aged 18 and over. No kids allowed—but you can still act like one.

Sip a cocktail, grab a bite, mingle with friends, and explore more than 700 hands-on exhibits that invite you to touch, tinker, and play. From creating frozen shadows to stepping inside a tornado, the experience feels completely different at night. Encounter the unexpected with unique programming that invites you into the worlds of the thinkers and creators changing our communities. Each week offers something new, whether it’s a guest speaker, live demonstration, or themed programming that blends science, art, and culture in unexpected ways. Past themes have included food science, art installations, and explorations of technology like artificial intelligence.
