Description

Make the most of your time in the Vatican City with an early morning entrance to the Sistine Chapel and Raphael Rooms and appreciate the beauty of Michelangelo's works.

After meeting with your guide, commence the tour by visiting the Sistine Chapel, the site of the papal conclave. Enter the chapel and learn about its history and the techniques behind its architectural design. Of course, you also get to marvel at the ceiling painted by Michelangelo before you head over to your next stop.

Head to the Raphael Rooms for an intimate experience with its fresco masterpieces in a near-empty museum. Your guide will then lead you back to the Museums' galleries, where you will be given information on how to enjoy the rest of your time, or visit the beautiful and ornate St Peter's Basilica.

Good to know before you go
  • Starting in 2024, the Vatican Museums will discontinue early access for all tour providers, instead opening to the public at 8AM. This tour will then be offered as a first entrance experience, which we recommend for a less crowded, more personalized, and fully guided experience.
  • Access to the Raphael Rooms is contingent upon crowd conditions, timing constraints, and guard-regulated routes. Including them may not always be feasible. In these cases, your tour guide will exercise discretion to adjust the itinerary, ensuring a high-quality experience.
  • Due to new health and safety regulations, the Vatican currently opens half an hour later at 8:30 AM. By arriving 30 minutes before the Vatican doors open, you can get into the museums first and directly proceed to the Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel before the crowds, and enjoy them with as few people as possible.
