  • If you select the optional St. Peter’s Basilica tour, the guide will take you inside; otherwise, explanations will be given from the outside in St. Peter’s Square.
  • Dress code:shoulders and knees must be covered.
  • All visitors must pass through airport-style security. During high season, waiting time at security may be up to 30 minutes.
  • Opening hours are subject to change due to special events at the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica.
  • Bags and suitcases larger than 40 × 35 × 15 cm, tripods, large umbrellas, and potentially dangerous objects must be left in the cloakroom which is located about 20 minutes from the end of the tour.
  • No refunds will be issued for latecomers.
  • Please make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before tour start time .
