Begin with a visit to the elegant Belvedere Courtyard, or Pinecone Courtyard, with a vast bronze bump fountain dating from the 1st or 2nd century A.D. Marvel at "Laocoon and His Sons," one of the largest sculptures in the world.
Continue to the Gallery of Geographic Maps, the world's largest geographical museum.

Visit the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo's masterpiece. Look up to see the painted ceiling decorated with the creation of Adam and the Last Judgment. On the sides, marvel at the frescoes depicting the life of Moses and Christ.

Throughout your tour, learn the fascinating story of the state of the Holy See, discover where the conclave is held to elect a new pope and find the meaning of the name of the head of the Vatican.

Good to know before you go
  • St. Peter's Basilica is a functional and primary place of worship in the Vatican. The Vatican may close it without notifying their official tourist agencies if there are last-minute guests or special ceremonies. In the event that the basilica is inaccessible, the guide will tell you about Basilica from the outside and will advise you on the best way to visit on your own.
  • The Dome of St. Peter’s Basilica is not included in the tour but if you decide to visit it on your own you can do that after the tour. It is open usually from 7.30am to 5.00pm, tickets on site will be €10 per person.
