Description

Discover the awe-inspiring Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica on this expertly guided tour. Bypass general admission lines with pre-reserved access and enjoy a thoughtfully paced visit led by a knowledgeable local guide.

Begin your journey in the elegant Belvedere Courtyard (also known as the Pinecone Courtyard), home to a monumental bronze sculpture dating from the 1st or 2nd century A.D. Admire the celebrated statue of Laocoon and His Sons, one of the most iconic sculptures in classical art.

Continue through the Gallery of Maps, the world’s largest geographical museum, showcasing breathtaking cartographic frescoes. Then, step inside the Sistine Chapel, where Michelangelo's legendary frescoes—the Creation of Adam and The Last Judgment—adorn the ceiling and altar wall. Along the sides, take in detailed fresco cycles depicting the lives of Moses and Christ.

Your tour concludes inside the grand St. Peter’s Basilica. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating stories about the Vatican State, explain how popes are elected during the conclave, and reveal the meaning behind the name of the head of the Catholic Church.

Good to know before you go
  • St. Peter's Basilica is a functional and primary place of worship in the Vatican. The Vatican may close it without notifying their official tourist agencies if there are last-minute guests or special ceremonies. In the event that the basilica is inaccessible, the guide will tell you about Basilica from the outside and will advise you on the best way to visit on your own.
  • The Dome of St. Peter’s Basilica is not included in the tour but if you decide to visit it on your own you can do that after the tour. It is open usually from 7.30am to 5.00pm, tickets on site will be €10 per person.
