Description
Explore the Roman Houses of the Celio, one of the most fascinating places in underground Rome. Admire the original decorations in an extraordinary state of conservation, and send a unique digital Pemcard to anyone you wish, anywhere in the world.
Walk through the amazing Roman Houses, also known as the "house of the martyrs John and Paul", located below the basilica of Saints John and Paul, between the Colosseum and the Circus Maximus. Observe over four centuries of history and bear witness to the passage between paganism and Christianity.
The vast interiors, originally workshops and warehouses of a popular multi-storey building (insula), were in fact transformed during the 3rd century A.D. into an elegant domus. Pay special attention to the details seen in the beautiful late antique frescoes.
