By skipping the initial paved sections open to cars, you save 5km of stressful riding and focus only on the 15km of pure, ancient beauty.

Our experience is masterfully designed around the seasons. To beat the heat, we strategically schedule the Catacombs underground visit during the warmest hours of the day—whether you choose a morning or afternoon departure. This ensures you stay cool and energized for the rest of your ride. Riding on ancient "sampietrini" (cobblestones) requires a basic level of cycling balance, but our premium e-bikes and born-and-bred Roman guides make the journey smooth and safe for everyone. This is the ultimate "transfer + bike" combo: less pedaling, more exploring, and total comfort from start to finish. Available in English, French, Spanish, and Italian for small groups or private elite experiences.

  • Min. Participants: 4 guests required. Alternative date or full refund offered if the minimum is not met
  • Max Group Size: Limited to 8 guests per guide for personalization. Flexibility is maintained (may run with fewer guests or include 1-2 extras to keep bookings together).
  • Route: 90% of the tour is on the Appian Way's ancient Roman paving (basolato), with no public car traffic (only resident access). Only two brief road crossings are required: once to enter the Aqueduct Park, and once between Tor Fiscale and Caffarella Parks.
  • Riding Experience: A basic-medium cycling level is mandatory
  • Guide's Discretion: A pre-departure test is conducted. The guide may deny participation (no refund) if a guest is unsuitable due to lack of ability or health concerns
  • Infants: Infants (up to 20kg/44 lbs) ride free in a provided child seat
  • Children: Children (under 139cm/4ft 7in) must use a bike extension (tag-along/trailer)
