The most spectacular spot is the famous Temple of Aesculapius, an elegant neoclassical temple built between 1785 and 1792 on a small island in the middle of the lake. Dedicated to the god of medicine, the temple with its classical columns reflected in the water creates one of the most iconic and photographed views of all of Villa Borghese.
Rowing around the temple, surrounded by the greenery of the park and the silence of the water, is one of the most romantic and evocative experiences you can have in Rome.
