The most spectacular spot is the famous Temple of Aesculapius, an elegant neoclassical temple built between 1785 and 1792 on a small island in the center of the lake. Dedicated to the god of medicine, the temple with its classical columns reflected in the water creates one of the most iconic and photographed views of the entire Villa Borghese.
