Description

Enter the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel without waiting in the general entrance line, then decide how you'd like to spend your time inside: on your own schedule, or accompanied by an expert guide who continues on to St. Peter's Basilica.

Before entering, you meet our welcome staff at the designated meeting point. They check you in, walk you through the ticket and security procedures required of every visitor, and get you moving into the museum complex without standing in the main queue.

The Vatican Museums hold a collection built up by successive popes over hundreds of years, arranged across a series of connected galleries. Near the start of the route, the Museo Pio-Clementino displays classical sculpture including the Laocoön group, and the Gallery of Tapestries and Gallery of Maps lead you through corridors lined with sixteenth-century artwork. The Raphael Rooms follow, decorated with frescoes Raphael painted for Pope Julius II's private apartments.

Every visitor, on either option, passes through the Sistine Chapel, where Michelangelo's ceiling and his Last Judgment cover the walls above. Pictures of the chapel are widely known, but few people expect what it actually feels like to stand beneath the frescoes in person.

If you have chosen the Skip-the-Line Entry Ticket, your visit is self-guided from the entrance onwards. No guide accompanies you inside: you decide how long to spend in each gallery and which order to see them in, including the Sistine Chapel.

If you have chosen to upgrade to a guided tour, a licensed English-speaking guide stays with you through the museums and the Sistine Chapel, explaining the history behind the works you see. Afterwards, the guide brings you directly into St. Peter's Basilica, where you see the Pietà and the scale of the basilica's interior before the tour ends.

Please arrive at the meeting point to redeem your ticket. Tickets cannot be collected in advance; your host will accompany you to the Vatican Museums entrance.
All visitors must pass mandatory airport-style security checks. Seasonal delays may occur, even with priority entrance, and are beyond our control.

Visitors with an official disability card showing more than 75% disability are entitled to free entrance (no reservation required)
Access to the Sistine Chapel is subject to Vatican regulations and official events. It may be closed at without prior notice. Your ticket will still grant access to the Vatican Museums, so partial refunds cannot be issued.
