Description
Discover this magnificent mansion with its sumptuous rooms, the brainchild of Edouard André and his wife Nélie Jacquemart, and their dazzling collection of major works by the great masters of Flemish and Dutch painting (Rembrandt, Van Dyck.), 18th-century French painters (Fragonard, Chardin, Boucher...) and the most prestigious artists of the Italian Renaissance (Mantegna, Botticelli, Bellini...).
Until August 3, 2025, you'll be describing the "Artemisia, Heroine of Art" exhibition. One of the few female artists of the modern era to have achieved international fame during her lifetime and to have been able to make a living from her painting, this Caravaggesque protagonist had an extraordinary destiny.
Through some forty paintings, ranging from the artist's recognized masterpieces to canvases of recent attribution, and paintings rarely shown outside their usual place of conservation, this exhibition highlights Artemisia Gentileschi's role in the history of 17th-century art.
