Description

Embark on an all-inclusive day trip to the beautiful Sancerre region with a small group of no more than 8 guests, where you’ll discover charming wineries, explore their cellars, enjoy generous wine tastings, and savor a traditional French lunch perfectly paired with local wines in the heart of the vineyards.

Your day begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Paris. Meet your passionate guide and wine expert, who speaks perfect English, and settle into a comfortable vehicle. On the way to the Sancerre region, enjoy a freshly baked croissant while learning about the history of this famous wine region and its winemaking traditions.

Once in Sancerre, start your wine journey at a well-known winery. Explore the cellars, learn about the production process, and enjoy your first tasting of the day. Discover the three mythical terroirs for which Sancerre is famous: Les Calcaires, Les Terres Blanches, and Les Silex. Thanks to the variety of these terroirs, the wines produced are truly different from one another.

Continue your journey with a short drive through the vineyards. Stop and enjoy a glass of wine in front of a magnificent view. This is the perfect time to learn how the vines are growing and understand the various tasks involved in cultivating them.

Lunch is served at either a family-run winery or a local restaurant, where you will enjoy a delicious traditional French meal. Taste several local wines, paired with the food, and discover one of France’s finest goat cheeses: AOC Crottin de Chavignol.

In the afternoon, discover the last winery of the day. As the Sancerre region is very close to other famous French appellations such as AOC Pouilly-Fumé, AOC Menetou-Salon, or AOC Côteaux-du-Giennois, you may also have the opportunity to taste one or more of these wines. By the end of the tour, you’ll truly understand the diversity of wines from this region.

After the last tasting, your guide will take you safely back to Paris, with a drop-off in the center of the city (Hotel de VIlle), concluding a memorable day dedicated to Sancerre wines, terroirs, and landscapes.
