Description

Learn about the creation and symbolism of the Statue of Liberty. Hear the stories of immigrants who passed through Ellis Island and snap pictures of this iconic landmark along the way.

On this guided tour, your expert New Yorker will get your reserve-line ferry tickets for you and ride with you to Liberty Island. Once on the island, you will have an island orientation tour, and you'll have time to visit the Statue of Liberty Museum on your own (guides are not able to guide inside the museum so they will give you hints and tips on what to see).

On our 2-hour Express tour, you can stay on Liberty Island and make your way back in your own time, or if time allows, you can continue your experience on your own and head over to Ellis Island (ferry and entry included in your ticket, but no guided experience on the Express option).

Or for the ultimate experience, choose our 4-hour tour, and after your visit to Liberty Island, it's onward to Ellis Island for a tour of the landmarks around the island, such as the Wall of Honor. Once the tour concludes, you can continue inside the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration to explore its multiple floors at your own pace and our guide will give you facts and tips to take with you (guides not permitted to guide inside the museum). An audio guide is included to help you navigate the museum.

Both the 2-hour and 4-hour tour options include a guided experience of Liberty Island packed with historical facts about the statue. On the 4-hour tour, enjoy an additional guided orientation of Ellis Island including entry and an audio guide to the National Museum of Immigration.

Good to know before you go
  • The tour takes place rain or shine. In the rare case the activity provider is forced to cancel the event, ticket holders will be allowed to reschedule (subject to availability) or be offered a refund
  • Your ferry ticket includes access to both islands, although for afternoon Express tours, there may not be enough time to visit Ellis Island on your own depending on return ferry schedule
  • Pedestal and crown access are not included in your tour. Guided tours are not allowed in the pedestal or crown at the Statue of Liberty, or in the Ellis Island museum
