Explore the Bronx Zoo, the Wildlife Conservation Society’s flagship park, which opened in 1899. Discover a unique window into the natural world in the heart of the Bronx, serving as a springboard and hub for conservation efforts across the entire planet.
See Western Lowland Gorillas, Angolan colobus, and other primates at the Congo Gorilla Forest. Learn about the zoo's strong focus on gorilla conservation and research.
Visit Tiger Mountain to see Amur tigers, the largest of all big cats. Lions, African wild dogs, and hyenas can be seen on the African Plains. Snow leopards and red pandas can be found in the Himalayan Highlands.
Take the Wild Asia Monorail for a unique way to view animals like Asian elephants and Indian rhinoceros. Southern White Rhinos can also be seen in the Zoo Center.
Explore the World of Darkness exhibit, which reopened in 2025, showcasing nocturnal creatures like aye-ayes, sloths, and sand cats. Discover unique animals from Madagascar, including lemurs, fossas, and Nile crocodiles.
