Description

Journey through some of the most scenic regions of the northeastern United States and Eastern Canada on this five-day adventure from New York. Blending natural wonders, vibrant cities, and historic districts, the route moves through landscapes and cultural capitals that showcase the character of the region.

The trip heads north toward the Finger Lakes region. When in season, guests can explore Watkins Glen State Park, where winding stone pathways lead through a dramatic gorge filled with waterfalls and misty rock formations. If the park is closed, the journey instead stops at the Corning Museum of Glass, home to thousands of years of glassmaking innovation and live demonstrations by skilled artisans.

The evening brings the first major highlight: Niagara Falls illuminated after dark. Colorful lights transform the rushing water into a glowing spectacle, and when scheduled, fireworks burst above the falls, adding an unforgettable moment to the night.

The following day crosses into Canada for panoramic views of Horseshoe Falls. Guests can enhance the experience with a Hornblower cruise that sails directly into the mist at the base of the falls. Later, lunch is served high above the landscape at Skylon Tower, where wide windows reveal sweeping views of Niagara and the surrounding region.

The journey then continues to Toronto, Canada’s largest city. Optional experiences include a harbour cruise across Lake Ontario, a visit to the iconic CN Tower for breathtaking skyline views, and a stop at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. In the evening, Toronto’s Chinatown offers a lively setting for dinner and a taste of the city’s multicultural character.

Day three travels east toward the scenic Thousand Islands region, where a relaxing cruise glides past forested islands, historic castles, and waterfront mansions scattered along the St. Lawrence River. The route continues to Ottawa for a stop at Parliament Hill before arriving in Montreal. A guided overview introduces the city’s neighborhoods before time is spent wandering Old Montreal’s cobblestone streets, historic squares, and lively cafés.

The next day brings a visit to Quebec City, one of North America’s most European-feeling destinations. Optional guided exploration reveals landmarks such as Place d’Armes, the Château Frontenac, and the Notre-Dame Basilica. Nearby, Little Champlain Street offers colorful storefronts, galleries, and charming cafés that feel lifted from a European village. Guests may also visit Montmorency Falls, a dramatic cascade even taller than Niagara.

On the final day, the journey returns toward New York with one last scenic stop at Ausable Chasm. Towering sandstone cliffs and rushing water carve through this striking Adirondack gorge, providing a memorable natural finale.

By the return to New York, you will have experienced iconic waterfalls, historic capitals, and some of the most beautiful landscapes in the region—all in one unforgettable five-day journey.
