Description

After pick up from your hotel, enjoy a narrated scenic drive out to the Everglades! You will start your adventure with an exhilarating and iconic 75 minute airboat ride way out into the "River of Grass". Be on the lookout for the endangered Everglades snail kite as well as numerous other birds and alligators and turtles. We will visit a tree island village to learn why and how the native American people lived in the Everglades. We will then drive to a remote part of the Big Cyoress National Preserve and take an amazing wet walk led by an experienced naturalist. We provide water shoes and walking sticks. This is a bucket list opportunity and you will see rare orchids, bromeliads, alligators, fish, turtles and snakes all under a beautiful canopy of bald cypress trees. This is a dream location for unique photographs. After changing into dry pants (don't forget to bring with you), we will drive to Everglades City to enjoy our lunch (order off the menu) at a local old Florida style restaurant. Next, we will embark on an 80 minute boat tour of the 10,000 islands of Everglades National Park. On this boat trip it is possible to see pods of dolphins, manatees, sea turtles, sawfish and sharks as well as roseate spoonbills and brown and white pelicans. We get off at a remote beach to explore a little of this pristine ecosystem. After returning to shore we will make a few other small stops including a visit to a historic trading post as well as a local museum and the gallery of famous photograper before heading back. We do not take our customers to alligator shows! We are the only ecotour company that holds permits for all South Florida National Parks! Our boat trips are significantly longer than others and our guides are experts in their fields. We also provide snacks and drinks throughout the day. This is a VIP authentic and immersive expereince. This is a great day in nature and includes two boat trips and two national parks.
WILD LIME ADVENTURES IS THE ONLY COMPANY WITH PERMITS FOR EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK, BIG CYPRESS NATIONAL PRESERVE AND DRY TORTUGAS!

Good to know before you go
  • The walk is mostly flat, with a few uneven sections
  • The activity provider does not visit places where animals are in cages or pens
  • Wild Lime Adventures is one of only a few permit holders to conduct tours in the National Parks
