Description
Experience Westminster in all its glory. In the heart of London, you will get to see places like Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Downing Street, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. From kings and queens to politicians, generals and admirals, see what the city has to offer in its West End.
We will begin the tour in Green Park and see several palaces of the Royal Family, including the quintessential Buckingham Palace. From there we will travel down the famous coronation road the Mall, before we stop at Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery.
Along the way, you get to learn about some of the most influential figures of the British monarchy, such as Charles I, 'the Martyr King,' Charles II, 'the Merry Monarch,' Queen Victoria and of course, our current Charles III.
We will also get to talk about the fascinating history of the Palace of Whitehall and St. James' Palace, the former royal residence.
We finish the tour at Parliament Square, right outside Parliament and Westminster Abbey.
The tour is an OUTDOORS tour, so do dress appropriately and prepare for potential changes in weather, such as rain. Bring umbrellas or appropriate clothes. We will not go inside any venues, but will see them from the outside and discuss their significance.
On certain days (typically Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) you can also see the Changing of the Guard taking place at 11:00 AM if you sign up for a 10:00 AM tour!
- Wear comfortable shoes as there is a moderate amount of walking involved
- Check the weather forecast and dress appropriately
- Some areas may be crowded, especially during peak tourist seasons
- Be mindful of London's traffic and cyclists and use pedestrian crossings safely
