Description
Discover London's most essential sights and landmarks in style on this guided, 90-minute "Round London Sightseeing Tour" aboard an Edwardian style B-type open top bus.
This is a very unique tour, the only one of its kind to be available in London. It passes by all the must-see landmarks of London without the need to spend all day hopping on and off buses to give you a flavour of the city. It is a great way to see the city for those with limited time who still want to see the sights in style!
You will tour the famous and a few infamous parts of London aboard a replica Open-Top London B-Type bus that plied the streets of London over 100 years ago. The B-Type was the first mass-produced motor bus in the world. In 1912, 20 were being built every week and by 1919 the B-Type had replaced all the horse buses in London. During World War One, over 900 were sent to France to move troops behind the lines on the Western front.
The bus you will travel on, made in 1963, is an almost exact replica of a B-Type and is the only one operating in London, so get ready to have your picture taken many times - on this bus you will be part of the fabric of the City for the day!
During the tour, you will see some of the buildings that the original B-Type passengers would have passed in the early 1900s, including Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral and many more. You can also marvel at the latest architectural designs of this world-famous city with a unique blend of rich history and contemporary design.
Your friendly guide will provide an engaging and informative commentary about many points of interest along the way, giving you an insight into living in this great, vibrant metropolis.
The tour takes 90 minutes, subject to traffic, so get ready to sit back and enjoy the experience!
Even in summer, English weather can be unpredictable and rainy. So now it’s the 2020s, don’t forget to check the weather forecast before travelling in 1920s style and bring umbrellas accordingly!
- Tour lasts approximately 90-mins but journey time can vary due to London's traffic conditions.
- Bus tours start from Embankment bus stop 40B close to Embankment Underground Station & Pier.
