Description
Explore the British Museum with reserved entry and a 50-point audio-guided tour.
Start your journey by meeting a staff member at Russell Square, a short walk from the British Museum. With reserved entry, explore the museum’s world-class collection at your own pace, using a convenient audio guide on your phone. With over 50 highlights featured, you’ll discover the most important treasures from the museum’s vast collection.
The British Museum is divided into different eras of human history, offering a chance to see some of the greatest works of art and artifacts from across the world. Begin your experience in the Egyptian galleries, home to the famous Rosetta Stone, which helped decipher Egyptian hieroglyphs, and explore the Egyptian mummies that give insight into ancient burial practices. Don't miss the statue of Ramesses II, an awe-inspiring symbol of Egypt’s ancient power.
Move on to the Greek and Roman galleries, where you’ll admire the Parthenon sculptures, once part of the grand temple in Athens, and the renowned Discobolus statue, representing ancient Greek athleticism. Continue your journey by exploring the grandeur of the Roman Empire, with impressive statues and mosaics that showcase the art and culture of this historic civilization.
Be sure to visit the monumental Lion of Knidos, a powerful symbol of ancient Greek artistry, which once stood proudly guarding the ancient harbor of Knidos. The lifelike craftsmanship of this marble sculpture is one of the museum’s most impressive pieces.
As you make your way through these timeless collections, the audio guide will provide fascinating details and stories about each landmark. You'll also have the chance to visit the Enlightenment Room, filled with objects that highlight human curiosity and the pursuit of knowledge.
