Description

Step back in time as you enter Aldwych station, originally opened in 1907 and closed in 1994 after nearly a century of service. Despite its intended heavy use, the station’s unique history unfolds through its lesser footfall.

Uncover the station’s varied past, from offering refuge during the Blitz to serving as a backdrop for films and TV shows like The ABC Murders (2018), Darkest Hour (2017), Sherlock (2014), and Atonement (2007).

Venture through the former terminus of the Piccadilly line, where the tour will guide you through the ticket hall, the original lifts, abandoned platforms, tunnels, and interconnecting walkways, some of which are seldom seen by the public.

Learn from Hidden London tours, meticulously crafted by historical experts from the London Transport Museum, drawing upon the Museum’s rich archive and collection. Celebrate the tour’s recognition as the ‘Best Hidden Gem in the World’ at the Tiqets’ Remarkable Venue Awards 2022, an honor bestowed by public vote.
