Description

Explore the best of Route 66 with a guided van tour departing from Laughlin, Kingman, Lake Havasu, or Bullhead City. Your adventure kicks off with a drive-by of a historic early 1900s Sears catalog home, built by the tour founder’s family, whose deep roots in the area are showcased in local museum exhibits.

Your first stop is Kingman’s Powerhouse Visitor Center, home to the Arizona Route 66 Museum and the Electric Vehicle Museum. Here, you’ll discover classic cars, immersive exhibits, and murals that trace the evolution of Route 66 from Native American trade routes to the heyday of American road trips. The Powerhouse itself is a piece of history, once supplying electricity to Kingman and the Hoover Dam project.

Next, visit the Cool Springs Service Station, a beautifully restored 1920s landmark that captures the nostalgia of Route 66’s golden era. Then, travel the scenic and winding Black Mountains stretch-known as the Sidewinder-with 191 curves leading to Oatman. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views from Sitgreaves Pass, where you can see three states and the dramatic Colorado River valley.

The tour concludes in Oatman, a historic mining town famous for its wild burros and lively Old West atmosphere. Browse unique shops, watch a high-noon gunfight reenactment, and soak up the authentic Route 66 vibe.

Throughout the day, enjoy plenty of photo stops and stories from your guide, making this tour a fun and memorable way to experience the region’s rich history and stunning landscapes-perfect for visitors of all ages.

Good to know before you go
  • No feeding the burros anything with sugar. You can purchase alfalfa cubes which is allowed to feed burros.
