Description

Explore the ocean and see marine wildlife on this family-friendly kayaking tour, great for children 5 and up. You will kayak roughly 1.5 miles through Makena Bay (aka Turtle Town) - known as one of Maui's best kayaking and snorkeling destinations.

Spot ocean wildlife as you battle through the blue Hawaiian surf. This location is famous for the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle population and exceptional paddling conditions on Maui's calm blue waters. It is also very common to see manta rays and dolphins as well as the Hawaiian monk seal.

During whale season (Dec through April) you will have the opportunity to see Humpback whales during their annual migration to the Islands to mate and give birth.

Combining kayaking and snorkeling can make for an exhilarating and memorable adventure, offering unique opportunities to explore marine environments from both above and below the water. Here are some fun attributes of enjoying these activities together:

1. Access to Remote Snorkeling Spots
Kayaking allows you to reach secluded and pristine snorkeling locations that are often inaccessible by foot or larger boats. This means you can explore untouched coral reefs and vibrant underwater ecosystems.

2. Dual Perspective Experience
You get the best of both worlds: the serene, scenic paddling experience on the water’s surface and the thrilling underwater exploration. This dual perspective offers a more comprehensive appreciation of the marine environment.

3. Close Encounter with Marine Life
Kayaking to snorkeling spots means you can encounter marine life in their natural habitats, from dolphins and sea turtles to colorful fish and coral reefs.

4. Exercise and Fitness
Both activities provide a good workout. Kayaking strengthens your upper body, core, and cardiovascular system, while snorkeling provides a gentle, full-body workout that emphasizes breathing control and endurance.

5. Adventure and Exploration
The combination adds a sense of adventure to your trip. You can explore hidden coves, paddle through mangroves, or navigate along rugged coastlines, and then dive in to explore the underwater wonders.

6. Family-Friendly Activity
This combination is suitable for families, including children. Kids can enjoy the excitement of paddling and the wonder of discovering underwater life, making it an educational and entertaining activity for all ages.

7. Eco-Friendly Exploration
Kayaking is a low-impact, environmentally friendly way to explore coastal areas without disturbing the natural habitats. Snorkeling allows you to observe marine life without causing harm.

8. Photography Opportunities
Bringing along a waterproof camera or a GoPro allows you to capture stunning photos and videos both above and below the water, creating lasting memories of your adventure.

Combining kayaking and snorkeling offers a blend of adventure, relaxation, and discovery, making it a fantastic way to enjoy and explore marine environments.
