Let us show you the very best of the Big Island, including Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the sights of Hilo on this guided tour.
Begin your morning with a drive through the historic sugar town of Hilo with a stop at Rainbow Falls and Wailuku River State Park. Search for the rainbow within the mist of the falls and immerse yourself in the lush jungle of the island including an awe-inspiring banyan tree.
Enjoy a scenic 45-minute ride from Hilo to Volcano with narration by your local certified guide including stories of old Hawaii, history and geology of the islands.
Experience the Volcanoes National Park including a stop at the summit of Kilauea volcano for a chance to see molten lava, feel the heat of the steam vents, and explore volcanic lava field and craters that have created the island. Enjoy a short hike through the native Hawaiian rainforest while traversing an ancient lava tube.
After an amazing experience at the volcano, head back to Hilo with a visit to Big Island Candies to indulge in local cookies, chocolates and coffee. End your day with a relaxing stroll through Liliuokalani Gardens while enjoying the panoramic view of Hilo Bay and the volcanic landscape of the island on the waterfront.
- As of April 2025, the tour is focused on the summit region of Kilauea volcano with many stops and short walks to viewpoints in the national park. Currently, the longest walk is 0.5 miles on the Thurston lava tube trail. We reserve the right to adjust walking paths as conditions allow, some trails may be up to 2 miles roundtrip. Tour guests may opt to wait at a lookout or the vehicle as needed.
