Description

Embark on an exhilarating guided kayaking tour to the twin Mokulua Islands with a local guide. Paddle toward Moku Nui, a designated bird sanctuary, and encounter a vibrant array of wildlife as you walk around the island. After kayaking, enjoy lunch and a shave ice to restore your energy.

To begin your tour, head to the activity hub for check-in. Receive instruction on where to park, where to access the ocean safely, kayaking tips, and the nature and cultural significance of the area.

Then, load the kayaks onto your vehicle with provided foam pads and straps. Drive to Kailua Beach Park, unload the kayak, and meet your guide in the water.

Kayak in Kailua Bay to the Mokulua Islands and listen to your guide’s commentary about local marine life and history. Keep your eyes peeled throughout the tour for animals like sea turtles, Hawaiian monk seals, tropical fish, and sea birds.

Upon arrival at Moku Nui, get out of your kayak and discover the only island in the Mokulua Islands that is possible to visit. Hike the trail to Queens Bath, explore local tide pools, relax on the beach, and have the chance to see heaps of fluffy baby chicks in the springtime.

After exploring Moku Nui, hop back into your kayak and follow your guide on the return paddle, taking in beautiful views of the Koolau mountain range along the way. Once on solid ground, return to the activity provider’s shop for a well-deserved lunch and shave ice.
