Description
Embark on an unforgettable helicopter tour of Hawaii’s Big Island, soaring over the erupting Kilauea Volcano and experiencing the raw power of one of the world’s most active volcanoes. This aerial adventure offers a unique perspective of Kilauea, bringing you face-to-face with its dramatic landscapes and dynamic volcanic activity.
This tour gives you an up-close and personal look at the power and beauty of the volcanic landscape, making it a once-in-a-lifetime experience you’ll never forget. The helicopter’s vantage point allows you to capture stunning views of the molten rivers, craters, and lush coastlines, offering a perspective that can’t be found anywhere else. Whether you choose a shared or private flight, with the doors on or off, you’ll be immersed in the magnificence of one of the Earth’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders.
At 4,091 feet above sea level, you'll look down on lush rainforests surrounding the volcano, their vibrant greens contrasting with the stark black lava fields that have been reshaped by recent eruptions. As you take in the breathtaking views, you’ll feel the spirit of Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of fire and volcanoes, whose presence is felt in the very land you fly over. Formed 300,000 to 600,000 years ago as the Pacific tectonic plate moved over the Hawaiian hot spot, Kilauea is not only the youngest but also the most active of the island’s five volcanoes.
As your helicopter glides over rivers of molten lava, watch in awe as they flow toward the ocean, creating a spectacular display of steam and fire. Feel the Earth’s dynamic energy in every moment, as Kilauea’s continuous eruptions reshape the landscape in real-time. With over 30 eruptions in the past six decades, this volcano is a living, breathing force of nature, constantly altering the island’s geography and geology.
It’s an adventure that will stay with you long after you return to solid ground, reminding you of the incredible power of nature that shapes our world.
