Enter the Hawaiian Universe and learn the power of water! This adventure hike and swim takes place in the legendary district of Hilo visiting Waiʻale falls. Traverse the two alawai trails that visit Waiʻale and her sister waterfalls. One trail which visits the base of Waiʻale falls with a stone beached island and the other trail that flows through the forested ridge above that leads to Waiʻlima falls.
Learn of endemic plants and animals that make up the river systems, witness famous Hawaiian cultural practice, and hear Hawaiian history connected to the region.
