Description

After pick-up you at your hotel in Amsterdam, you will cross the province of Flevoland and the Weerriben - Wieden National Park by car. With the help of your tour guide, you will be able to unveil the fascinating story behind this massive piece of land entirely reclaimed to the waters as you drive across it. On our way to Giethoorn, you will have the chance to make a stop at one of those cities built on the former seabed: Lelystad. At Lelystad's port, you'll be able to see a replica of the "Batavia", a 17th-century galleon of the Dutch East India Company, as well as the famous statue “Exposure” by Antony Gormley.

Continue this fascinating journey to reach Giethoorn and enjoy a 1-hour boat ride to fully enjoy the beauty of this magical little town, its old thatched roof farms, and its wooden bridges. You will also have free time to take photos, walk around and fill the stomach in one of its excellent restaurants (lunch is not included).

Enjoy the serene beauty of the Dutch landscape on your way back to Amsterdam as your tour guide takes you through the “Houtribdijk”, the dike that connects the provinces of North Holland and Flevoland and that divides the lakes Ijsselmeer and Markermeer.
