Downtown Dubai, along with its art district, Alserkal Avenue, houses some of the region's widest range of Arab and South Asian art. From public artworks such as Declaration by El Seed and the famous Wings of Mexico, this tour unpacks how Downtown Dubai was designed, why art is integral to Dubai’s architectural journey, and how aesthetic beauty is woven into everything we do in this marvelous city.

This tour begins from inside Dubai Mall and finds its way via Souk Al Bahar into Burj Plaza and onto the Dubai Opera complex. Along with elements of design considerations that went into building Downtown Dubai, this tour showcases us architectural genius of Burj Khalifa, the Walk of Stars, the Dubai Fountain, and the dhow-shaped Opera building. Walk through Burj Plaza, the main downtown street, set by Burj Park and featuring direct views of The Dubai Fountain to observe Jorge Marin’s Wings of Mexico, Declaration by El Seed, the Three Finger Salute Statue, and Janus Rostock’s pearl-diving dhow shaped Dubai Opera Building. This tour delves into the UAE cultural symbolism in modern construction and ties together Dubai’s fantastic growth story.

From here we head by car to the Alserkal Avenue art district where we visit warehouse-styled art and design spaces making Dubai a popular art destination for the Middle East. We weave in and out of Ayyam (Syrian Owned Gallery) and/or Green Art Gallery, the first two galleries to move into Alserkal Avenue in 2007, depending on the artwork on display. We visit the Italian Shoe factory customized local Sadu prints on international leather, reclaiming shoes and fashion, and soak in the famous signage art installation by New York’s Mary Ellen Carrol – the Dubai Circle Game. We have an Atelier visit of famous Tunisian-French calligraffiti artist El Seed whose art adorns Dubai Opera, Dubai Expo 2020 Sight, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Cairo, and Paris.
