Description

Discover Cambridge with the ORIGINAL™ alumni-led tour, combining an insider walking experience with a traditional punting journey on the River Cam.
Founded in 2013, Cambridge Alumni Tours was the first to offer tours led by Cambridge students and graduates — a standard many now follow, but few match.

Experience the city through those who have lived and studied here. Your 90-minute walking tour is led by a Cambridge University student or graduate, blending personal insight with expert knowledge of the university’s history, traditions, and architecture.

Explore Cambridge’s most iconic landmarks, including the Eagle Pub, the Mathematical Bridge, King’s College, and the Senate House. Walk through historic streets, hidden alleys, and college grounds while hearing the stories of figures such as Isaac Newton, Niels Bohr, Stephen Hawking, Virginia Woolf, and Srinivasa Ramanujan.

Where possible, your tour may include entry into select college grounds, such as Trinity College gardens and other available sites. Please note that college access depends on availability and opening times on the day.

This is not a scripted tour, but a carefully designed experience combining academic credibility with engaging storytelling, offering a deeper understanding of Cambridge.

Optional: King’s College Chapel Entry
For guaranteed entry, select the King’s College Chapel option when booking. Visit one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in the world after your walking tour.

Chauffeured Punting Tour with Scudamore’s
Continue your experience on the River Cam with a chauffeured punting tour in partnership with Scudamore’s — the oldest punting company in Cambridge.

Relax as your punter guides you along the famous “Backs,” passing eight colleges and nine bridges while sharing stories of the university.

Your punt departs approx. 2 hours after the tour start, or 3 hours if you include King’s College Chapel. You are welcome to bring drinks on board.

The Most Complete Cambridge Experience
Combining the ORIGINAL™ alumni-led walking tour with a punting experience from Cambridge’s oldest company, this is one of the most comprehensive ways to experience the city.
