Description

This middle-sized boat excursion departs at 8:30 AM from Budapest. After a 3.5-hour long cruise on the river Danube, you will arrive to Visegrád around 12:00 PM, where you'll have 5 hours to explore the city on your own, returning for embarkation at 16:50 to Budapest.

Visegrád is a synthesis of the past, present and future. As the border of the Roman Empire, the "limes" (limestone walls) ran past the settlement. This city was also the residence of Hungarian kings in the Middle Ages. The town lies amidst mountains of picturesque beauty: from Castle Hill you can get a superb view of the incomparable Danube Bend. Throughout the year (usually on Saturdays from 12:30) medieval tournaments and jousts are organized next to the Solomon Tower and a medieval fair presents Hungarian handcrafts in the Renaissance Palace.

The boat departs from Visegrád for Budapest at 4:50 PM. After a 2.5-hour long cruise you will arrive back to Budapest at 7:20 PM.
