Description

Spirituality + Nature: This day you will encounter to a unique, Hungarian mix of religions: native samanism, christianity and hinduism under the influence of esoteric teachings. We visit two iconic places considered to be holy nearby Budapest, which let you glimpse into how belief and relegion is practised by many people nowadays. You can also learn a lot about history and enjoy the National Park of Pilis mountains.

This is a relatively new programme here, but I have over 21 years of experience: friendly, knowledgeable guide, who had guests from 57 countries.

1.Walk: The path is called Startrail and leads to the Church of Pilis (google rated 4.9 by 348 visitors) and is similar to the stations of Christ, but in this case it is not about what happened to Him during his last way, but we meet the most important figures of Hungarian history, their figures are carved into wood.
Why was the church built at this place?

Are we, Hungarians the descendents of the HUNs of Attila or not?
When did we arrive to present-day Hungary?
How did our original, runic script looked like?

Our language: being totally different from every other European languages – where does it originate from according to scientist and new wave thinkers? And is it really the most difficult to learn?

Religion: what was the original religion of Hungarians? Paganic rites or christianity?
How did it change by: catolicism, protestantism, communism and esotericism? What is it now?

Learn about the only Hungarian monastic order: the Paulians! Founded by Ozseb 800 years ago, who gathered the hermits of this area and created a religious community, which is still active nowadays.
Where is the Holy Crown of Hungary now and why is it still so imprtant?

2. Hike: after absorbing the holy atmosphere and spectacular views of the magical valley we walk back to the car (this part is only 1.5 km back and forth) and drive to the second highest peak of Pilis mountain range – a popular hiking spot among Budapesteans. First we visit the „Roger” viewpoint (on google rated 4.9 by 1420 visitors), which allows to see 20-40 km away in clear weather, then we walk the pilgrimage Way of Mary to her statue. Then on to a stone with runic writing and dowhill to the Rock of Love and a rock said to be the Heart of Earth (in raw translation the name means Beating Rock). True or not, the place has a special vibe and in the past decades it has become a pilgrimage site for esoterics and christians likewise, so samanic drum sessions often take place here.

This leg of the tour is 6 km in total with about 250 m elevation first down then back up.

After the hikes we can visit a typical local restaurant operating in a 150 years old village house (not open every day, we choose from several nearby options).

Then jump back to the car and drive to your hotel in 50-60 mins.

„Factinating day with Zsolt, I have learnt, enjoyed and seen more than I had expected” Aron Gelley, group leader
