Description

Christmas in Budapest is, without a doubt, a dreamlike season for both locals and visitors. Immerse yourself in its wonderful atmosphere and stroll through its main Christmas markets, accompanied by an official Spanish-speaking guide, on our Budapest Christmas Markets Tour.

We will begin at Ferenciek tere, the heart of the city, to dive into the festive spirit of imperial Budapest. Among lights and shop windows, we’ll discover how Hungarians celebrate Advent and the arrival of Saint Nicholas, accompanied by the mischievous Krampusz. At the iconic Pichler Astoria, we’ll taste the country’s most traditional sweet, the kürtőskalács, also known as chimney cake.

Our walk continues through the majestic Párisi Udvar, an architectural gem that shines especially bright during this season, and along the elegant Váci Street, where local shops overflow with Christmas decorations and typical Hungarian products, such as the famous Hungarikum, symbols of the nation’s cultural heritage.

We’ll then arrive at Vörösmarty Square, the most famous Christmas market in Budapest, where we’ll discover traditional Hungarian holiday recipes such as töltött káposzta (stuffed cabbage) and bejgli (poppy seed or walnut roll), and learn about the fascinating legend of the historic Gerbeaud confectionery. Nearby, on Fashion Street, the city’s modern spirit blends perfectly with the elegance of its festive lights.

We’ll end our tour in front of St. Stephen’s Basilica, home to Europe’s most award-winning Christmas market, featuring a 3D light show, an ice-skating rink, and the delicious szaloncukor, candies that have adorned Hungarian Christmas trees since the 19th century.

A perfect experience to enjoy Christmas like a true local — surrounded by history, sweets, and traditions. If you love this festive season, Budapest is a must-visit destination, and our Christmas Markets Tour is the ideal way to soak up its magical and one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Kellemes Ünnepeket!
