Description
Begin your tour at Central Market Hall, Budapest’s largest and oldest indoor market, famous for its colorful roof and neo-Gothic architecture. Discover traditional Hungarian foods, spices, local products, pastries, and handmade souvenirs while experiencing the city’s authentic atmosphere.
From nearby Fővám tér, board scenic Tram 2 and ride along the Danube River, passing historic bridges, riverside buildings, and panoramic views of the Buda Hills and Castle District. Exit at Kossuth Lajos tér beside the iconic Hungarian Parliament Building, one of the largest and most impressive parliament buildings in the world. Admire its grand neo-Gothic exterior and enjoy beautiful views along the Danube.
Continue on foot through central Pest to the surroundings of St. Stephen's Basilica, Budapest’s largest church and one of the city’s most important landmarks. Enjoy the lively atmosphere of the square filled with cafés, restaurants, and elegant architecture.
Next, walk to Deák Ferenc tér and take Bus 16 into the historic Castle District without the steep uphill climb. Get off at Fisherman's Bastion, famous for its fairytale-like towers and breathtaking panoramic views over Budapest, the Danube, and Parliament. Nearby, see the beautiful Matthias Church with its colorful tiled roof.
Finish the tour with a relaxing downhill walk through the Castle District to Várkert Bazár, the elegant Royal Gardens promenade along the Danube.
