Description

Meet your guide in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, right outside the bike rental (look for the Tres Gatos poster on the doors). After a short safety briefing and bike fitting, you roll through the medieval lanes toward the waterfront, dropping into the open views of Passeig de Colom. With super-yachts drifting in Port Vell, your guide explains how maritime trade shaped the city and why the Columbus Monument points seaward.

Then the e-assist takes over for the climb onto Montjuïc. Pause at Mirador de l’Alcalde for a panoramic sweep of the harbor, then continue to the Cactus Garden (Jardins de Mossèn Costa i Llobera), home to hundreds of desert species overlooking the Mediterranean.

Next comes Montjuïc Castle (173 m above sea level). From the ramparts you’ll see the skyline, coastline, and distant mountains, while hearing the fortress’s darker chapters, from Bourbon artillery to Civil-War prisons.

A gentle descent brings you to the Olympic diving pool and a terrace bar. Lock the bikes and enjoy free time to recharge with a classic vermut, a zero-alcohol spritz, or patatas bravas. Food and drinks are pay-as-you-go, so everyone can choose their own treat.

Back in the saddle, pedal through the Olympic Ring past Estadi Lluís Companys, Palau Sant Jordi, and Santiago Calatrava’s soaring telecom tower, with stories of how the 1992 Games transformed Barcelona. Continue down to the grand staircase of the Palau Nacional, where your guide points out the radial avenues of Plaça d’Espanya and the palace’s role in the 1929 International Exposition.

Finish with an easy glide back toward the center, returning to the Gothic Quarter at the end of the loop
