Barcelona: Montserrat Early Trip — Cable Car, Abbey & Hike

Highlights

• Be the first tourist visiting Montserrat, be almost alone during a lot of time
• Be comfortable in a new van (december 2024) for a maximum of 7 participants
• Choice between doing a hiking tour till one peak with me or hike by yourself
• Be in Montserrat during 5 hours and discover the monastery and the mountain
• Travel to the bottom of the mountain with zipper train or cable car (you choose)

Description

Discover the only trip that arrives at 7:30h in Montserrat and be a lot of time without any other tourists. We will set off from Barcelona by van for 7 persons from 6:25h till 6:45h.
From middle september till middle february we will see the sunrise.
First we will visit the Abbey and the Black Madonna and we won't be faced with long lines to see this fantastic piece of art from the XIIth century.
After that, you'll have two options:
FIRST OPTION: Around 8:20h, we will start a hiking tour till the top of one peak with wonderful views. We will arrive around at 10h, so the sun won’t be still very hot! The maximum elevation gain and loss will do is 450m / 1476 feet, with 6,6km / 4,10 miles. The minimum hiking tour will be till wherever you want.
If you do the full hiking tour we will arrive around 11:30h to the Monastery and you'll have some free time. The hiking to the top of the monastery, has steps during half way. The way down to the Monastery it's pavimented without steps. You can go back to the Monastery with the funicular also (ticket not included)
SECOND OPTION: You can hike wherever you want but by yourself. You can take the funicular (cable car under the cabin) from 9:30h. I will tell you anyway wich hiking routes i recommend you to do.
At 12:15h you will take the cable car or the zipper train (you can choose) to the base of the mountain and then we'll take the van to arrive back to Barcelona before 13:30h
