Description

Spend a full day blending spirituality, mountain landscapes and the very best of Catalan gastronomy. We
from Estación de Francia heading to Montserrat — one of the most magical and emblematic mountains in Catalonia, a National Park and a place of pilgrimage for over a thousand years.

On arrival we board the iconic cogwheel train (cremallera) up to the Monastery, enjoying breathtaking views
of the holy mountain. Once at the top, your guide will lead a 45-minute tour of the Benedictine monastery,
founded in the 11th century and home to the venerated Black Virgin (La Moreneta), patroness of Catalonia.
The visit closes with an exclusive tasting of traditional liquors handcrafted by the monks of Montserrat —
ratafía and the famous Aromes de Montserrat.

You will then have around 1 hour of free time to explore the monastery at your own pace: visit the basilica,
queue to touch the Virgin’s orb, walk the main square or photograph the rock peaks. After a panoramic train
ride down, our coach takes us to the Bages region, the heart of the lesser-known — but exceptional — DO
Pla de Bages wine region.

There, a historic Catalan castle-winery with spectacular vineyard views awaits, where you’ll enjoy a
traditional Catalan tapas lunch with dessert. Your guide leads the full experience: a walk through the
vineyards and historic estate buildings, paired with a tasting of three signature D.O. Pla de Bages wines
committed to sustainable, eco-friendly production. We then return to Barcelona by coach, arriving at
Estación de Francia.
