Discover the history of Barcelona by exploring the oldest neighborhood of the city: the Gothic Quarter.

From here, you will walk along one of Barcelona’s most iconic streets, Las Ramblas, while your guide explains how the city was founded by Emperor Augustus. Continue towards the old port, where you will discover the remains of the ancient city walls and explore the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter before arriving at Nova Square. Here, in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, admire the impressive Gothic-style Cathedral.

As you explore Barcelona, your guide will share fascinating stories about key figures from the city’s history, such as Saint Roch and Wilfred the Hairy. You will also discover the origins of the Catalan flag and how its current design was developed. Continue through Plaza del Rei and Plaza del Pi until reaching Plaza de Sant Jaume, the political and administrative heart of the city, where you will see the Town Hall and the Palau de la Generalitat.
