Description

A visit to the windmill village of Zaanse Schans is a must-see when visiting Amsterdam. Located 20 km from the city, this charming countryside village offers a quiet pace of life amid its fields and green wooden houses. The village also offers a way to experience wooden clog making and taste traditional Dutch cheese.

We meet at Amsterdam Central Station and depart sustainably on a short train ride to Zaanse Schans. Zaanse Schans is a historic site where you can find beautiful windmills from 1600, a cheese factory, and a clog factory.

Along with the guide, you will visit the village and enjoy its quiet atmosphere, typical green wooden houses used by the locals, and small bridges that link the village streets.
We will have time to capture pictures of the windmills, escape the hustle and bustle of city living, and experience a gentle pace of life in the Dutch lowlands.
We will visit a factory where traditional wooden clogs are still made and learn how famous Dutch cheese is produced during a visit to a local farm.

We will return to Amsterdam by train at the end of your tour.
On the return trip, if you wish, you can visit the LEGO Houses in Zaandam independently before reaching Amsterdam.
