Description

Discover what lies beneath your skin at BODY WORLDS: The Happiness Project Amsterdam. This fascinating exhibition takes you on an unforgettable journey through the human body, featuring more than 200 real plastinated bodies and anatomical specimens.

During this unique anatomical journey, you will explore 7 levels, each revealing a different aspect of the human body. The current theme in BODY WORLDS Amsterdam is The Happiness Project, exploring how happiness affects our well-being and how our body and mind are closely connected. Together, all seven floors reveal insights into the question: what determines whether we are truly happy or not?

Explore real muscles, bones, nerves, blood vessels, and organs, and discover how they work together to keep your body moving. The plastinated bodies are displayed in dynamic poses, revealing the muscles and structures involved in everyday movements — from jumping and dancing to playing the saxophone.

Throughout the exhibition, you’ll discover how your lifestyle choices can influence your health and well-being. Compare healthy organs with those affected by habits such as smoking, see what artificial joints look like inside the body, and uncover the fascinating connection between physical health, happiness, and the way we live.

The experience also includes a free InBody Scan, giving you the opportunity to learn more about your own body. Educational, thought-provoking and unlike anything else in Amsterdam, BODY WORLDS is a must-see experience for curious visitors of all ages.

The museum is wheelchair friendly. Please note that you will take the elevator to the starting point of the exhibition on level 6. A small part of the exhibition is located in the basement, which unfortunately is not accessible for wheelchair users. An adapted visitor toilet is, of course, available.
