For 30 years, Boom Chicago is Amsterdam’s English-language comedy institution has amazed locals, visitors, and critics alike! Boom Chicago combines quick improvisation comedy, razor-sharp writing, and songs made up on the spot. People can’t believe how funny the show is.

Boom Chicago has launched the careers of many comedy superstars. Seth Meyers began at Boom Chicago. Jordan Peele was their first Oscar winner, and Boom was also where he met Keegan-Michael Key (creating Key & Peele together). The creators of stars of Emmy-winning Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly), met in Amsterdam and fell in love with football at Boom Chicago. Also, Amber Ruffin, Heather Anne Campbell (Rick & Morty), and Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect movies, Blockers). Best of all, the next generation of comedy superstars is on stage tonight!

At Boom Chicago, guests are seated at tables and can enjoy drink service from our fully stocked bar. Whether you're a fan of local beers, exquisite wines, expertly mixed cocktails, or alcohol-free options, you can enjoy them before and during the show. And after the show, why not join the cast for a drink in the bar? You may never get this close to these future celebrities again!

On Fridays and Saturdays at 10:15PM, we switch things up with a special stand-up show. And on Sundays, the show clocks in at just 75 minutes!
