Description
Experience an impressive canal cruise through Amsterdam, where you'll learn all about the story of Anne Frank.
This special tour combines a beautiful boat ride through the UNESCO-listed canal belt and the historic Jewish Quarter with moving insights into the life of Anne Frank. You will also learn about Jewish culture in Amsterdam and the events of World War II in the Netherlands as you explore the city from the water.
The tour starts near the Jewish Quarter (Joodenbuurt). From here, you will follow in Anne Frank's footsteps through the city and learn how Anne came to Amsterdam and how her life changed drastically during the occupation.
During the cruise, you will pass important places such as the Anne Frank House, the Portuguese Synagogue, and the National Holocaust Memorial. Learn all about the origins of the Jewish Quarter in Amsterdam and its influence on the city's development.
Learn from our guides how the Jews made Amsterdam one of the wealthiest cities in Europe and influenced the city's development, architecture, and culture. Find out why the Jodenbuurt became the center of Jewish life alongside the Old Harbor and the Red Light District. However, it was not only Jews who lived here. Non-Jews like the famous painter Rembrandt van Rijn, whose paintings now hang in the Rijksmuseum, also lived and worked in the middle of the Jewish quarter.
The cruise takes you through the picturesque canals of Amsterdam, which, with their historic houses from the Golden Age, are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Learn how this age of trade in the city helped art and creativity flourish in Amsterdam. Artists such as Van Gogh, to whom the Van Gogh Museum is dedicated, also benefited greatly from the wealth generated. The famous Heineken brewery also experienced a boom during the city's heyday. Today, the Heineken Experience is an integral part of Amsterdam.
The tour is accompanied by one of our experienced guides, who will tell you the story of Anne Frank and show you the most special corners of the city. Our small boats provide a cozy atmosphere on board and give you the opportunity to interact with the other participants as well as with your guide.
Sustainability is important to us. For this reason, all our boats are equipped with electric motors, which allow for a quiet and environmentally friendly journey. Join us on a sustainable, electric canal cruise that connects the city's past and present.
One drink per person is included during the trip.
Please note: Due to construction work on the canal near Leidseplein, we are currently unable to pass directly by the Anne Frank House. The route will be open again from the beginning of June.
- The canal cruise takes place in any weather.
- You have booked with Amsterdamliebe. Please do not let other tour operators on site send you to the wrong meeting point.
