Description

Visit ARTIS Zoo, one of the five oldest zoo's in the world. Something special happened this winter: Two elephant calves were born. Join Expedition Elephant, follow the trail, discover interesting facts about elephants, and crack the elephant code. Or craft your own flag during the May holidays to mark the birds' nests and thus protect the meadow birds.

Pay a visit to the hatchery and take a look at the egg cargo bike. Discover and investigate: which egg actually belongs to which animal? Come look, feel and ask. Imagine yourself in Madagascar at the renovated Kerbertterras (former lion enclosure) and admire how the ring-tailed lemurs, ruffed ruffs, and Madagascar radiated tortoises live together here. Listen to the various stories about the people and animals who stayed at ARTIS during the Second World War and view the buildings and animal enclosures with fresh eyes.

Visit the Planetarium for a journey through space (included with admission). Discover stars, planets, and marvel at our place in the universe.

Stroll through the historic city park, admire the monumental buildings and explore the botanical garden, and take a relaxing break at one of the vegetarian restaurants.
